how microblading works:
Microblading is applied using a manual tool to give you the most natural and hairlike effect for your brows. Each brow shape and pigment is customized to your skin type, undertones, and hair color. To keep discomfort at a minimum, a topical anesthetic is applied to the area to keep pain at bay not only before the procedure, but the majority of the time during. The entire process takes 2 hours at maximum (generally 1.5).
After your initial introductory procedure, your new brows may look a little dark in the beginning and during the healing process, but they will fade a few shades lighter once healed. There is a 7-10 day healing process but it shouldn't hinder you from going about your day to day activities.
Once healed, they will look quite natural starting off, as the brows aren't considered complete until after your touch up. Once they are healed, you will be scheduled for a complimentary 30-40 day touch up where we will finalize the brows. This appointment is where we fine tune the brows, thicken them if desired, deepen them in color, and fill in any spots where ink has naturally fallen out.
Microblading is great for:
Those that want to enhance their existing shape
Those that don't typically wear much makeup at all but still want subtle brow definition
Those that have naturally full brows but want a cleaner appearance
Those looking to refresh microblading from another artist
how shading works:
Shading is applied using a manual tool and is done at the end of the microblading session to enhance your fresh new shape. It adds an extra layer of depth and definition giving your brows a fuller appearance. The combination of Microblading and Shading gives you the best of both worlds: visible microbladed hair strokes around the perimeter of the brow, shading in the body of the brow giving the illusion of thicker hair. This is especially important for those that have little to no brow hair, or are looking for complete brow reconstruction, as microblading on its own in these cases may look very unnatural.
Microblading + Shading is great for:
Those looking to fix brow asymmetry
Those who have little to no existing brow hairs
Those who prefer bolder brows
Those looking for complete brow reconstruction
Those with very oily skin
Those who have a darker skin tone that needs more definition
*For most brow transformation, shading is highly recommended
Who it's for:
The busy woman that wants effortless and easy glamour
The victims of one too many encounters with tweezers in previous years
Cancer/ Alopecia patients
Those looking for complete brow reconstruction
Those that want a little extra definition to their already beautiful brows
Those that want to cover up an old, faded brow tattoo
Who it's NOT for:
Pregnant or nursing
Pacemaker or major heart problems
Skin irritants or psoriasis near the treated area
Botox in the past 2 weeks
Viral infection or diseases
Medication that thins blood
Incredibly sensitive skin types
Those that form Keloids
RetinA users (must stop usage for 3 weeks before procedure is performed)
Very oily skin types will benefit from Microblading + Shading, but not Microblading on its own as the strokes may blur over time.
Not all brow tattoos can be covered with microblading, please attach photo when inquiring to see if you are a candidate.
Before the procedure:
No alcohol or caffeine 2 days before the procedure.
No working out the day of the procedure.
No Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, IBUprofen, Coumadin (Tylenol is acceptable).
Showering the morning of the procedure is recommended, as you will need to keep your brows dry for the next 10 days.
No waxing or tinting 3 days before the procedure (I do however recommend a waxing appointment a week prior).
Consult with your Doctor before discontinuing any medication.
Eat something substantial before the procedure.
Bring in a reference photo of your brow inspiration.
***RetinA users (must stop usage for 3 weeks before procedure is performed).
***Bring headphones to your appointment.
After the procedure:
Do not pick or scratch the treated area as picking may cause scarring and loss of pigment. Let dry skin or scabbing naturally exfoliate off.
Avoid anything that may cause the brows to get “soggy” until the last scab has fallen off (steamy showers, swimming, saunas, working out heavily causing excessive sweating).
Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 3-4 weeks after the procedure.
No facials, Botox, chemical treatments, microdermabrasion, Retin-A, or any other product that could speed up your skin’s cell turnover rate. Avoid any of these treatments until you are healed, preferably from your 2nd treatment.
Avoid sleeping face down for 10 days.
Avoid driving in open-air vehicles such as boats, convertibles, bicycles and motorcycles for the first 10 days.
If animals sleep in your bed, be sure to change your pillow cases every 2-3 nights during the healing process. If you don’t have animals, I recommend changing your pillow cases as soon as you get home.
Follow healing routine, twice a day, until the last scab has fallen off. (Healing routine will be explained to you the day of your appointment)
